Hi! I'm Kelsey Miles

Be Bold. Be Curious. Be You!

I’m an award-winning songwriter, harmonica player, and soulful storyteller whose music explores curiosity, courage, and the full spectrum of being human.

Beyond the stage, I’m also a PhD chemist and assistant professor whose work is rooted in understanding how things transform. That same curiosity drives my music.

My journey into music didn’t start in childhood. It began in 2014, long after I had committed myself to science. What started as a creative experiment turned into a life-changing realization that music can heal in ways data never could. I left the lab, hit the road, and spent years touring, performing, and discovering how deeply music reconnects us to ourselves and to each other.

Today, I’m based in Kansas City, where I continue to merge these two worlds. Science shapes the way I see patterns, emotions, and transformation. Music lets me express them. This unique combination has been featured in the Wisconsin State Journal, USA Wire, and the Martin City Telegraph for the way it bridges creativity, healing, and human curiosity.

This work led to the creation of the I Am Lyrical Journey, a music-driven experience that pairs songs with reflection and journaling to help people reconnect with the truths they’re finally ready to explore.

Whether I’m performing onstage, writing my next album, or diving into the human experience on my podcast, my mission is simple:

To create music that lifts, moves, and awakens the part of you that has always been waiting to be heard.

Music and lyrics helped me uncover my authentic self, so I created this journey for you to do the same. Our journeys are all marked with similar discoveries. Are you ready? I Am.

Love,
Kelsey

From her soul-baring opening track “Beautiful Mistake” to the great horns on the closing track “The Lighthouse,” she will take you on a musical journey that’s well worth the ticket.”
